LIFEBOAT SOS!
A fabulous evening was had by everyone in the Teignmouth Lifeboat House on 30th May where, for 1 night only, the inside became the unlikely venue for a 4 course dinner. The interior was transformed into a magical candelit banquet complete with candelabras and cherry blossoms from Sarah Brunner at OTTO RETRO in Exeter while Emily Pitcher, guest Chef from DEVON HOME COOK produced a veritable feast using the best of our local fish, meat and produce.
A huge thank you to both Tony Watson, Tamsin Thomas and all the crew of the Teignmouth RNLI for allowing us to descend on their working lifeboat station - even when, just as mains were served, there was a live SHOUT!!! For a heartstopping moment, the diners gasped while the crew ran through and geared up. Forks were suspended, lights went on... helmets and jackets in place. A dining crewmember jumped up and within seconds, the lifeboat was launched. Diners were treated to the ship to shore communications and thankfully, a sucessful rescue followed! PHEW...
For us extreme dining adventurers, it was everything we wanted it to be.... and more! Just goes to show what can happen when you let it!
Off now to lie down in a dark room and dreams of being rescued by the amazing Teignmouth Crew.....as is Lesley, Jan and Anne-Marie. Thanks girls!

The Salty Seadog Supper is next and will Pop UP and Pop DOWN in July and August...any guesses where? shhhhhhh.....
